The ISCHIA deck chair, designed for Besenzoni by Forcellini, is a product conceived by drawing inspiration from the technicality and precision of Besenzoni's creations, as well as from an idea of fluid living.
The square-profiled steel structure, mirror-polished, evokes water reflections and the classic nautical products made by the Sarnico company. The product's profile is linear and clean, contrasting with generous padding that creates a comfort typical of household products. Ischia is a hybrid object that can live on boats, in outdoor environments, and also inside homes.
Thanks to the possibility of using different fabrics, its character can change from typically nautical in the striped configuration to purely domestic fabrics. It is a universal product in terms of its intended use, but also typologically, as it can be folded and stored to occupy less space when not needed, but once opened, it offers comfort and aesthetics closer to those of a modern living room armchair than a foldable deck chair.
Attention to detail is fundamental, from materials to stitching, down to the swiveling feet, which allow it to firmly rest on uneven surfaces like wooden docks, creating a larger support point that does not damage more fragile floorings.
We can imagine this deck chair being born on a boat and moving with great ease in every environment we live in.
