The marine environment, with its combination of saltwater, sun exposure, and humidity, can be particularly harsh on any equipment. Regular maintenance of our products – such as gangways, ladders, cranes, and seats – not only preserves their functionality but also protects your investment over time, preventing premature wear and tear.
ORDINARY AND PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE TIPS
Every time you return to the harbor
Wash the gangway thoroughly with fresh water and dry it with a soft cloth, paying special attention to the stainless steel parts. If left to air dry, the stainless steel can develop corrosion.
Avoid cleaning with materials that could scratch the surface, as scratches can accelerate corrosion.
Periodically
Clean the gangway with a neutral biodegradable detergent. Being exposed to engine exhaust fumes, the gangway is often subject to acidic and greasy deposits.
At the beginning of winter
Treat the wood with a suitable protective product to preserve its quality and appearance.
At the start of the season
Clean the extending section guides and hinges, then lubricate them with an appropriate spray product.
Check the batteries in your remote control to ensure they’re in good condition.
At least once per year
Protect the walkboard with a suitable paint to prevent water infiltration and swelling of the wood.
Check the hydraulic oil level and refill with OIL OSO 46 or a similar product if it’s below the minimum level.
Last but not least
Always rely on specialized technicians for extraordinary maintenance to ensure the longevity and reliability of your gangway.
