The inauguration of the Atelier division marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in Besenzoni's brand history and is officially announced with the creation of the "Ischia" deck chair, thanks to the collaboration with designer Francesco Forcellini.
This paves the way for a broad-scope project, which includes collaborations with designers active in the nautical sector and beyond.
The Ischia deckchair, designed for Besenzoni by Forcellini, is a product inspired by the technicality and rigour of Besenzoni's creations, and by an idea of fluid living.
The square-profile steel structure, polished to a mirror finish, recalls the reflections of water and the classic nautical products made by the Sarnico-based company. The product's profile is linear and clean, contrasted by generous padding that creates a comfort that is typical of household products, to provide comfort and relaxation in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Ischia is effectively a hybrid object, which can live on a boat, outside, but also inside the living space. Thanks to the possibility of using different fabrics, its character can change, from typically nautical in its striped configuration to purely domestic fabrics. Comfortable and practical, it can be folded up and stored away to take up less space when not needed, but once open it has the comfort and aesthetics closer to those of a modern lounge chair than a folding deckchair.
The attention to detail is crucial, from the materials to the stitching, right down to the tilting feet, allowing it to rest firmly on the ground even on surfaces that are not perfectly flat, such as wooden decks, creating a foothold that will not damage the most fragile flooring.
Thanks to its versatile design and comfort, the Ischia deckchair is a fluid piece of furniture that can easily be placed on a boat, as well as in any environment of daily life.
