Rather wonderfully referred to internally as ‘the shiny ladder’, Besenzoni’s latest creation is a concealed stairway that extends out of a letterbox type aperture before rotating upwards or downwards to reveal a set of steps. Tilt it up and you’ve got elegant access to a high quayside. Tilt it down and you’ve got a super cool walkway into the sea. You can have the structure in polished or powder-coated stainless steel with steps made from teak and plexiglas or simply glass. Either way, there are LED lights under the steps and along the perimeter. Controlled by a touch panel remote control fitted in the cockpit, it is powered by an electro hydraulic unit and once extended, you can slot in handrails.
